How to Get Blood Out of Sofa?

Removing bloodstains from the sofa requires different methods depending on the material of the sofa. Here are some common sofa materials and their corresponding methods for removing bloodstains:

1、 Leather sofa
Immediately wipe:

If blood stains are found, they should be wiped immediately with a clean soft cloth to avoid difficulty in removing them after drying.

Clean with water:

If the bloodstains have dried, you can use a soft cloth dipped in water to clean them. Be careful not to use irritating solutions to avoid burning the cortex.

2、 Fabric sofa
Cold water cleaning:

For newly stained blood, it should be immediately cleaned with cold water and never with hot water, as blood will solidify and not dissolve easily when exposed to heat.

Hydrogen peroxide treatment:

If the bloodstains have dried, hydrogen peroxide can be used for treatment. Pour hydrogen peroxide onto a clean cloth and gently wipe the bloodstains until they are completely removed.

Salt+hydrogen peroxide+corn starch:

For stubborn blood stains, you can mix 2 tablespoons of corn starch and 1 tablespoon of salt into 100ml of hydrogen peroxide, then apply the solution to the blood stain, gently scrape off the solidified blood stain with a spoon, wait for the blood stain to completely dissolve, and use a towel to absorb excess water.

Professional cleaner:

If the above methods cannot remove bloodstains, you can consider using professional sofa cleaner or carpet cleaner for cleaning. Please read the instruction manual carefully before use and follow the instructions for operation.

3、 Bamboo sofa seat
Cold water wiping:

For newly stained blood, you can directly wipe it with a towel dipped in cold water.

Cold water soaking+scrubbing:

If the bloodstains are quite old, you can soak them in cold water for a while first, and then use a shoe brush to scrub them. If it cannot be cleaned thoroughly, you can apply soap or laundry detergent to continue scrubbing.

4、 Other materials of sofa seats (such as cotton, cotton linen, textile fabric, etc.)

Cold water soaking+scrubbing:

Soak the sofa seat in cold water for about half an hour, and then scrub the bloodstains with your hands. If it is newly stained blood, it can be basically wiped clean.

Warm water+laundry detergent+soap:

For bloodstains that have been present for a long time, if they cannot be cleaned thoroughly, soak them in warm water and laundry detergent for about 10 minutes, then scrub and wash them again with soap.

5、 Other small folk remedies
Lemon juice+salt water:

Mix lemon juice and salt water, soak the bloodstains on the sofa, and then clean it.
Sulfur soap: Whether it is new or old, sulfur soap can be used for rubbing and cleaning.

White radish juice or carrot mixed with salt:

Sprinkle white radish juice or crushed carrots mixed with salt on the bloodstains, and then gently scrub.

Please note that during the process of removing bloodstains, it is advisable to avoid using overly rough fabrics or tools to avoid scratching the surface of the sofa. At the same time, after cleaning, ensure that the sofa is completely dry to avoid the growth of bacteria or mold.
